Snatch block

Snatch blocks have a dual purpose. They will double the power of your winch, or increase the angle at which you can use it. It's basically just a huge pulley which you can attach to a tree trunk to enable dragging your own vehicle with a line back. The speed of recovery will halve, but the load bearing will double... plus if you're at an awkward angle for a tow, the snatch block will come to the rescue here too by enabling a pivot point with a tree trunk.
